Race Info
Be a part of Maple Ridge's biggest cycling event and register for the 13th Annual Race the Ridge road cycling stage race, now part of the new BC Premier Race Series. Race the Ridge features three exciting and challenging stages, including a road race, individual time trial, and criterium. In true stage racing fashion, the rider with the shortest overall time after completing all three stages wins!
Race the Ridge also offers a U17/U15/U13 Stage Race, which consists of the time trial and criterium only. There will also be Junior Women's and Men's categories - riders must be Junior categorized riders on their licenses and race and register in the corresponding races (Cat 3/4). Para-cyclists are welcome in the individual time trial event.
TT BIKES WILL BE CHECKED FOR UCI COMPLIANCE.
ALL JUNIORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO GEAR RESTRICTION.
PLEASE ALLOW 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TO BE CHECKED BY THE OFFICIALS.
Registration
Take note: When you register, remember that in order to be eligible for points in the BC Premier Series rankings, you must compete in the appropriate category. I.e. If you are a 40+ Male, but you choose to register in Cat 1/2, you will receive BC Premier Series points in the Cat 1/2 rankings NOT Masters 40+.
Plan early and score a deal on registration until Feb. 28. Note: Field limits are set and the Cat 3/4 Men's category will sell out.

*Cat 3/4 Men, Master 40+ Men, Junior Men will compete together and will be ranked together in Race the Ridge results and awards, but will receive separate rankings for the BC Premier Series overall standings.
**We need minimum 12 riders for road race caravan for Cat 3/4 Women otherwise they are with the Cat 1/2 women. Cat 3 Women may choose to race with the Cat 1/2/3 Women or the Cat 3/4 Women.
***Master 40+ Women, Cat 3/4 women and Junior Women will compete together and will be ranked together in Race the Ridge results and awards, but will receive separate rankings for the BC Premier Series overall standings.
Road Race Start Times
- 8:00 am - Cat 3/4 Men - 7 Laps / ~70km
- 8:05 am - Cat 3/4 Women - 5 Laps /~ 50km
- 10:30 am - Cat 1/2 Men - 10 Laps / ~100km
- 10:35 - Cat 1/2/3 Women - 7 Laps / ~70km
Sign on opens at 7:00 am and closes 15 minutes prior to each race.
The road Course is open to traffic, Centre line rule is in effect.
Time Trial Start Times
- 4:00 pm - Youth Depart
- 4:15 pm - All other Categories
Sign-on opens at 3:00 pm
Riders will leave @ 30 second intervals and will start in last name alphabetical order by category as outlined above.
A start list will be posted Friday, April 26.
Criterium Start Times
- 10:00 am - U17 - 20min
- 10:30 am - Cat 3/4 Women - 30min + 3 Laps
- 11:05 am - Cat 3/4 Men - 40min + 3 Laps
- 12:00 pm - Kids Race
- 12:15 pm - Cat 1/2/3 Women - 45min + 3 Laps
- 1:15 pm - Cat 1/2 Men - 55min + 3 Laps
- 2:30 pm - Podium & Awards
