Back by popular demand, the 2014 Tuesday Night Short Track Cyclocross races will again be held under the lights at the Ridge Meadows BMX Club in Pitt Meadows, BC. 

Racing starts October 7, 2014 and will run on Tuesday nights through the month of October (7, 14, 21 & 28) with the possibilities of extending series into November. For more information contact Barry at localrideracing@shaw.ca

These fast and furious races held on the Ridge Meadows BMX track and surrounding area are a great way for new riders to experience the excitement of cyclo-cross in an accessible and relaxed environment. Practiced ‘crossers will hone their skills and tactics over dozens of dizzying laps on a tight and challenging loop.

Any type of bike is welcome, as long as you're okay with taking it off-road!

Elite racer Sandra Walter will be holding an Intro to Cyclocross Clinic starting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, prior to that night's race. Get the inside scoop on technique, skills, and tactics and then put your new knowledge to the test in the Beginner race at 6:00 p.m! Cost: $10.

These events are great for first-timers interested in learning more about cyclocross and it's the perfect prep for Local Ride's marquis race on November 2: Pumpkin Cross!

Dates: Tuesday, October 7, 14, 21, 28 

Weather: Short Track Cyclocross will be cancelled if raining.  Check back to the web site day-of race for race status.

5:30 pm – Open Track
6:00 pm – Youth, Beginner Men and Women – 20 minutes
6:30 pm – Elite Men and Women – 30 minutes

Location: Ridge Meadows BMX Club, Barnes Road, Pitt Meadows
Cost: $5 Youth and Ridge Meadows BMX club members / $10 everyone else
Licenses: You must have a Cycling BC race license to participate

Series Winners: Points will be tracked for the duration of the series. Winners of each category, men and women, will receive a special award.
